Become A Literacy Volunteer
And Make A Difference In Someone's Life!
We train interested volunteers to tutor adult students on a one-to-one basis, approximately one - two hours per week, at mutually convenient times and libraries locations throughout the county, to help students achieve their objectives.
Our students' aspirations run the gamut and include such goals as learning to speak English better, becoming active members in their communities, obtaining U.S. citizenship, filling out employment applications, getting better jobs to support their families, earning their High School Equivalency diploma, and helping their children with homework. You can play an active role in making their lives better.
We run several six-session tutor training workshops at various libraries throughout the year to train our tutors to work effectively with these adults.
| If you are an adult yourself, want to make a difference in someone's life, and would like to tutor here in the Finkelstein Library either day or evenings, please call: 845 708-9072 or email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more about our upcoming workshop beginning on Monday, March 31, 2014 here at the Finkelstein Memorial Library.
