Finkelstein Memorial Library hosted East Ramapo's 4th Annual Universal Pre-Kindergarten "Tiny Picassos" Art Festival on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Library.
Arnie Warmbrand, Coordinator of the East Ramapo Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, State Sen. David Carlucci, Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee, and Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski attended the reception and each spoke about the need and value of quality early education in our community.
The Finkelstein Memorial Library, in conjunction with the East Ramapo Universal Pre-K program is hosting the art works of Pre-K students in the first floor Meeting Room during the month of May. Come and enjoy looking at future young "Picassos" and "Rembrandts" at this fourth annual festival.
"The East Ramapo Central School District collaborates with close to 60 pre-schools and child centers to help four-year olds - develop socially, emotionally, physically, linguistically, culturally, and intellectually.
The Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is a special early childhood program established by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and contracted School Districts (East Ramapo) to provide an early learning experience for children age four.
