From paintings and photos to sculptures and collectibles, Finkelstein Memoral Library offers a number of quality exhibits throughout the year. The Library strives to present some of the best works of local artists, photographers and collectors, celebrating both the talent and diversity of our community.

Suicide Prevention
Sept. 7 – 26
 
Brigid Pigott, LCSW of the Rockland County Department of Mental Health will exhibit suicide prevention posters and make a presentation on the topic. The selected posters are the finalists from a graphic arts suicide prevention competition for students at Rockland Community College. The presentation, which addresses the balance between risk and protective
factors that can help someone stay safe, will be on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 6 – 7 PM. Poster viewing and Q&A will follow.

Registration for the presentation will start on Sept. 6. Call (845) 352-5700, ext. 244. The poster viewing and presentation is open to teens and adults.
 
Mario Zino
Oct. 5 – Nov. 21
 
This South-American artist will exhibit his oil on canvas landscape and boating artworks. He paints because of his love for the arts and was formally educated in music and art in his native country of Argentina. A reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2:30 – 3:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served. Your entire family is invited!

Elvie’s Digital Art
Dec. 2 – Jan. 23
 
While Elvie Dorelus attends college, she also finds time to express her love for digital arts. This is her second solo art exhibition of digital artworks at the library. There will be a reception on Sunday, Dec. 8, 1 to 4 PM. Light refreshments will be served and your entire family is invited!(Snow date: Dec. 15.)

ERCSD (East Ramapo Central School District) 2020 Art
Feb. 5 – Feb. 26
 
ERCSD Art Director Michael Smith will coordinate the exhibit of the high school students’ art works in a variety of mediums, forms and styles. A reception will be held on Thursday,Feb. 20, 5:30 – 7:30 PM to recognize the artists. Light refreshments will be served.
