Magical Creatures Scavenger Hunt
Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 @ 6 pm
Welcome to Mythical Tales Week! Join us on the patio for a library-wide outdoor scavenger hunt. We’ve hidden 120 dragons and unicorns for you to find. Collect as many as you can find. Prizes will be awarded to most unicorns collected, most dragons collected, and most overall magical creatures collected.

Trampoline Trivia
Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 @ 6 pm
Brush up on your endangered and extinct animal trivia. Answer trivia questions on Kahoot while bouncing on a mini trampoline. You’ll be divided into two teams of five to compete for prizes. Each correctly answered question earns a point for your team. Check out the display in the teen room this July for books on endangered and extinct animals. It’s time to rewatch Ice Age!

College Life Panel

Join past Finkelstein Teens as they discuss the ups and downs of college life.  Registered teens may submit anonymous questions prior to the panel.

Wildlife Watercolor
Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 @ 6 pm
Try your hand at watercolors! Join local artist Pat Foxx for a watercolor class on the library’s patio. You’ll learn basic watercolor techniques as you re-create a mystical fox painting, with step by step instructions. All materials will be provided.

Lucky Panda Garden
Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 @ 6 pm
Let’s get gardening! Assemble your very own potted lucky bamboo while you hear a folk tale about how pandas got their markings. Decorate your new houseplant with mini pandas, ribbons, and coins and learn how to care for it so you can enjoy it for years to come. All materials will be provided.

Meets over Zoom: Thursdays (July 8th, July 15, July 22, Aug. 5, Aug. 12) from 7pm to 8pm

If you love reading and trivia, join our Battle of the Books team! You’ll read 8 books across 8 different genres and answer questions in a team trivia contest. We’ll meet weekly over the summer to prepare for the Regional Battle on August 28, where you’ll represent Finkelstein Memorial Library in an online Battle against several local libraries.
