Summer Learn It Flyer
Intro to D&D: Montana Smith and the Tomb of the Lost King
Wednesday, 7/1 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Famed archeologist Montana Smith just discovered the long lost tomb of a King, thought to be a fairy tale. He has hired you to assist him and keep him safe from unknown dangers. Will you be able to complete the task, or will the tomb’s secrets stay hidden forever? This quick oneshot is geared towards people who have never played Dungeons and Dragons before. We will provide the supplies; you provide the imagination!
Learn to Play Pokemon
Wednesday, 7/15 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Join Ameet from Toywiz as he teaches us how to play the Pokemon Card Game! Ameet will provide players with decks, or bring your own cards if you have them.
Teen Makers for a Cause
Make one to donate and one to keep! Earn community service hours while helping others with these projects
Wednesday, 7/8 – Library Card Contest for the Library from 7:00 – 8:00 PM: (Calling all artists! Come share your creativity by designing a brand-new library card for our users. Materials and a template will be provided–just bring your creativity and imagination. Join us and your artwork could become one of the next official library cards.)
Wednesday, 8/4 – Gemstone Necklaces for a women’s shelter from 2:00 – 3:00 PM: (Using three ingredients, create your very own gemstone beads to be used to make necklaces or earrings (or both)! Keep one for yourself and donate the other to The Center for Safety and Change for distribution at a local women’s shelter.)
Create Your Own Fern-rarium
Wednesday, 7/22 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Ferns have been around since the time of the dinosaurs. Come create a self-sustaining environment for these ancient plants and learn about the different components of a terrarium. Materials will be limited so make sure you join early!
Dino-rama!

Battle of the Books Flyer
Battle of the Books Team Practices
Wednesdays, (7/8) from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM & Every Monday & Wednesday (7/27 – 8/19) from 4:30 – 6:00 PM
There’s still time to join our Battle of the Books Team to compete against teams from a dozen other public libraries in a book trivia competition! Email fmlteen@rcls.org, read the 8 books, and attend practices to learn the rules, and get comfortable with the buzzer system. The Battle will be at SUNY Orange, on Sunday, Aug. 23rd @ 12 PM.
This is a great resume and/or college application booster. No extracurriculars or sports? This has all you need- Teamwork! Friendly Competition! Commitment! Good Sportsmanship! Need a reference? Committed team members may earn a reference from our Coaches. Additionally, receive free copies of the 8 competition books and a team shirt (all yours to keep!) All participants get free books and goodies at the event! Winners get cash prizes and a banner to hang in the Library for the next year. Read titles/ authors that you might not check out otherwise!

With summer at an end, we want to thank all the teens who have helped us by volunteering and participating in our Summer Reading Challenge! Join us for our end of summer teen party to enjoy some pizza and ice cream, while having your caricature drawn! Registration is preferred.
