of the Library
The Friends of the Finkelstein Memorial Library are a diverse group of people who love books and appreciate the life-long learning center that our library provides.
Many of us have grown up with, or have kids who have benefitted greatly from, the wide variety of services that our library offers. The Friends provide special projects and programs that benefit library patrons such as the ever popular museum passes, the Hearing Loop system in the Fielding Room and a variety of educational and cultural programs throughout the year.
Become a friend! Dues are a nominal $15 per individual or $20 for a family, or be a sponsor for $50 or a corporate member at $100.
Because we are a nonprofit organization, your donations and dues are tax deductible. Can we count you in as a Friend of the Library?
For further information about our Friends Program, please call (845) 290-8845. Please leave your name and contact information and we’ll be sure to get back to you.
The Friends elected officers in 2019 are as follows:
The Friends of the Finkelstein Memorial Library are people just like you who enjoy the library and support its programs and services in a variety of ways, much like parents support schools through PTA’s.
The Friends raise money exclusively for library programs, materials, special equipment and services, and to promote the library in the community.
The organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and maintains a close relationship with the library.
The Friends generate financial support through fundraising events and membership dues.
The Friends membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. We urge you to become a member or renew your membership today. Your membership dues of only $20 per family enable us to offer many excellent educational and cultural presentations, help fund free passes to a host of museums, contribute toward the popular summer music program…and much more.
