WINDOW PICKUP APPOINTMENTS

To better serve you, you can now book your appointment online.  You can continue to call us to schedule an appointment to pick up your reserved material. 

  1. Your holds must be ready for pick up.
  2. You will either notified by email of phone when your hold is ready of you may check your account online.
  3. Booking online is for next-day pickup or 4 days after item first becomes available.

Call the Circulation Department at (845)352-5700, ext 250, if you need to change your appointment time.  If you want an appointment for the current day (same day pickup) please call.

GRAB & GO SERVICE

We will be opened for a limited number of patrons at a time.  Patrons will get a ticket with their time limit, from Security stationed at the front and asked to leave a name with them. When pages are shelving, the aisle will be closed to patrons.  Patrons will have to see a librarian if their aisle is closed. We may ask you to browse another area if the section is full. All seating, toys, and iPads have been removed from the Library.
 
Please note all Departments must be entered from their main entrances. The stairways in the Children’s Department (1st to 2nd floor only) will be CLOSED except in case of emergency.

Marty wants to bring back to life a remarkable time, place and people. It will never be duplicated unless you lived through it. What survives of the Borscht Belt is the memory. He details the history of The Borscht Belt. Some of the sites that Marty will discuss are the following: Old Route 17, Red Apple Rest, Bungalow Colonies. The following hotels will be mentioned: Grossingers, Concord and Kutcher’s. Marty will conduct a Simon Sez routine with the group. Just about all the comedians back then got their start in the Borscht Belt. He will talk about the following comedians: Red Buttons, George Burns, Rodney Dangerfield, Sid Caesar, Henny Youngman and Milton Berle. What caused the decline of The Borscht Belt will be discussed.
