Our Homework Help volunteers help children in Gr. 1-6 with their homework assignments after school. Volunteers must submit their most recent report card in addition to the application and letter of reference. Hours are 4:00-5:45pm, Mondays – Thursdays. This program meets in person! Volunteers make their own schedule each month using SignUp. Each hour spent tutoring earns one hour of community service.
Teen Advisory Board
Our Teen Advisory Board helps shape our teen program by participating in brainstorming ideas, offering suggestions, and helping to promote library services to teens. Virtual meetings will be held monthly. Earn one hour of community service for attending each virtual monthly meeting.
Another opportunity to read! Participate in a Project Lit virtual event and earn community service hours for both reading, promoting, and discussing books. Earn 1 hour of community service for each discussion attended. Extra hours will be awarded for help promoting the book/discussion on the basis of effort.
Want to earn volunteer hours and learn some new skills? Help us evaluate Vidcode, a database of online coding classes aimed at teens. Work at your own pace to complete lessons and submit projects online. Vidcode is designed for beginners and no prior coding experience is necessary to participate. Earn ½ hour of community service for each completed lesson plus occasional meetings and surveys.
Never enough time to read for pleasure? This is the volunteer program you need! Read an Advanced Reading Copy (ARC) and write a comprehensive review using our handy Google form. ARCs will be provided by the library and are yours to keep. Earn community service hours based on length of book, based on three hours per 100 pages plus 1 hour per review. For example, a 300 page book will earn 10 community service hours.
