LIBRARY LITTLES

Ages 0-5

Bouncing Babies (Birth-Walkers) [D]
Thursdays from 10:00-10:45 AM
1/18 – 6/6 (no session 2/15, 2/22, 4/25, 5/2)
Babies are invited to their first story time program in this special lapsit for grownups and their little ones. Babies will get exposure to stories, songs, and movement, while grownups will get to create these special moments together.

Toddler Time (Walkers-Preschool Age 3) [D]
Tuesdays from 10:30-11:15 AM
1/16 – 6/4 (no session 2/13, 2/20, 4/23, 4/30) 
Toddlers and their grownups can join us for all types of fun: stories, fingerplays, music and movement, using scarves, instruments, and more! We will incorporate early literacy tips that can also be used at home.

Super Stories! (Preschool Ages 3-5) [D]
Mondays from 2:15-3:00 PM

1/22 – 6/3 (no session 2/12, 2/19, 4/22, 4/29)

Come join us for our new story time geared towards preschoolers! We will listen to stories, do fingerplays and songs, and incorporate movement. We end with play time and an optional craft.

Stop Motion Short Films (Ages 9-12) [R]

Team up to create your very own short stop-motion film using the Library’s Makerspace!

Light up Bookmarks (Ages 9-12) [R]
Tuesday, 4/9 from 6:00-7:30 PM
Create a light-up bookmark in the Library’s Makerspace to read anytime, day or night.

Reading Buddies (Ages 6-10)
Mondays & Wednesdays, 1/17-6/5
(no sessions 2/12-2/21 & 4/22-5/1)

Reading is fun with a buddy! Your child will practice their phonics and decoding skills in a relaxed environment alongside our teen volunteers by playing literacy games and reading together.

R.E.A.D. to a dog (Ages 6-10)
Thursdays, 1/25, 2/8, 3/14, 4/11, & 5/16 from 4:30-5:30 PM (15-minute slots)
Read to a therapy dog in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Choose a 15-minute time slot and boost your confidence while reading to your canine companion.

Lego: Read, Set, Build! (Ages 5-8) [D]
Thursdays, 1/18, 2/29, 3/21, 4/18 & 5/30 from 4:30-5:30 PM 
Join us for read alouds each month, followed by a Lego building challenge that relates to the stories.

Camp Half-Blood (Ages 7-12) [D]

What cabin are you in? Celebrate all things Percy Jackson with crafts, games, and Greek lettering! And, of course blue snacks!

Comic Strip Workshop with Chari Pere (Ages 9-12) [D]
Monday, 1/29 from 6:30-7:30 PM
Join cartoonist Chari Pere (author of Shabbos Tales) to learn the basics of comics, storytelling, and pacing in a fun, interactive workshop! Every participant will come away with a 1-4 panel comic of their own design.

Join us for a fun night melting Perler beads. Choose from a variety of shapes to make a cool coaster.

Velvet Art (Artistic Edition) (Ages 9-12) [D]

Come relax, get your artistic side flowing, and have some fun drawing! Choose from a variety of favorite designs, including koalas, chameleons, puppies, bunnies, and unicorns.

Game Night (Ages 9-12) [D]

What’s your favorite game? Join us and play your favorite board games with friends. Or try one of our Jumbo games: Jenga, Connect Four, and more!

From Seed to Flower (Ages 5-8) [R]
Tuesday, 1/23 from 5:00-6;00 PM
This hands-on program, presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County, will teach children how to start seeds in the winter months.

Family Letterboxing Night (Families) [D]

A night of adventure for the whole family! Solve our trail of puzzles and clues to collect unique stamps together and learn a new hobby you can all enjoy for years to come.
